American Airlines has launched a new baggage tracking app that will allow passengers to keep track of their checked bags at all times. The new Customer Baggage Notification system will be able to send an alert and let people know if their bags don’t end up on the same flight that they do.
The service can be used by downloading an app, but there is also the option just to opt into push notifications and the airline will text any updates that it feels are necessary. Alert options include being told if a bag arrived early or if it will be arriving late.
American introduced the new service with the hopes of increasing their customer service overall. People tend to perceive a better customer service experience when they feel aware of what’s happening during their flights.
