Galaxy S8 is one of the most anticipated phones of this year 2017, and with loads of rumors piling up about the device, and more report coming in, we are much more excited than usual.
Leaks and rumors about the device have been coming in for over a month now, and now The Guardian has put their hands on such a vital information that could drive more excitement towards it. According to Guardian, the details on the phone is from several well-placed sourced.
The publication also said that the phone might be launched around April, though previous rumors suggest it would be released on March 29 in New Year.
In the article, The Guardian quoted:
Sources told The Guardian that the next-gen flagship will be available in two sizes, with screens in the 5-inch to 6-inch region. Other reports indicate that the Galaxy S8 will have a 5-inch edge-to-edge Super AMOLED display, and the S8 Plus will come with a 6-inch screen. Despite sporting larger displays, the upcoming phones will be similar in size or smaller than the 5.1-inch Galaxy S7 and 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 Edge. That’s because the new handsets will have an almost bezel-less “infinity” display.
The infinity display will cover most of the face of the device. The top and bottom bezels are so small that there wasn’t even room to put Samsung’s logo or brand on the front. Though there were speculations that Samsung could embed the fingerprint scanner in the display, sources told The Guardian that the fingerprint scanner will be located on the back of the phone. If true, it will be first for Samsung’s flagship smartphone.
However, in a recent update, we also came to know that headphone jack is not going away with Samsung S8, even though the previous reports suggested otherwise. The Galaxy S8 will also feature the iris scanner technology that Samsung introduced with the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7.
