Search giant Google has very recently rolled out an update to their search app for iOS that accompany the trending search and instant answer feature. The update is rolled out on Thursday and users have already started enjoying these newly added features. However, this is not a new feature rather Android users received it a year back already. But it came out with an option to opt-out so users who did not like the features were able to turn it off from the settings.
The iOS app too carries a similar option to opt-out. As per Google’s What’s new discussion in the app store, the trending feature and Instant answers are explained below.
Trending search feature: As you tap into the search box to initiate a search, Google displays the search which is trending around you. The trending searches have a blue round icon with a climbing arrow in them. This is what makes it apart from your search history. While many of us will find this feature interesting some might unlike it. So, the opt-out option is always available for them to turn off the feature. The update also claims that this trending is all about that are happening around you and it is not local at all.
Instant Answer: This is another feature that is accompanied with the update of Google search app for iOS. As per this feature, as you start typing something in the search box, you will get a quick answer or instant answer even before completing typing and pressing the search button. The answers you will receive are almost correct most of the time, however, sometimes the data might not be factual. But altogether this is really helpful.
So, if you are already using the Google’s search app on your iOS device, it’s time for an update soon to enjoy all the added features.
