India has plans to build the newest tallest building in the world. The plans are currently waiting for approval.

Nitin Gadkari, a union minister for shipping, road transport, and highways explained.

“We are not giving our land to the builders and investors. We have plans to develop the area…we are making a green, smart road, three times bigger than the Marine Drive. We plan historic landmark bigger than Burj Khalifa.”

Currently, the world’s tallest building is Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, which reaches 163 stories tall. As a comparison, that building is 950 feet taller than the World Trade Center observatory in New York City.

The new building would be home to a variety of different spaces such as retail, entertainment, business, commercial, and office spaces.
