A town in Italy is offering some financial incentives to get people to move there. Daniele Galliano, the mayor of Bormida, is offering people $2,175 to move there as well as accommodations for $50 a month.
The plan is still in the approval stages but they’re hoping that it will bring some new life to the town. Although there are few opportunties for work there.
“We’re still working out the plan, but anyone is welcome to come and live here. We’re a small community but very welcoming. We’re high up in a mountain area but also not far from the sea – it’s a healthy lifestyle, the air is very clean.”
The town has four restaurants is located about two hours from Nice. One of those restaurant owners name Oddone Giuseppe spoke about the quality of life.
“There is nothing much to do here. But life is so simple and natural, we have forests, goats, the church, and plenty of good food. Life would definitely be free of stress.”
