Two unions that support the London Underground workers began a strike on Sunday night which will affect the tube for 24-hours. The commuters who generally rely on the subway system had to walk, bike, or endure a lot of traffic to get to work on Monday morning.

The strike has to do with job cuts and the closure of certain ticketing offices, which they say is making the tube more dangerous for its passengers.

London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan agreed that certain changes to the system could be made but said that the strike was “completely unnecessary. Why strike…Why not resolve these things amicably?”

On Tuesday the British Airways cabin crew will begin a two-day strike, and following that the Southern rail will have a three-day strike as well.
