Most recently Uber only provided the option the input an address as a destination, but now the app has announced a new feature that provides the option to go to a person.
To use the feature, users first have to sync their contacts in the app. Then when they select the “where to” options they can choose one of those contacts.
The app will then send a request to the person to use their location, and if approved the ride can then be scheduled. Additionally, the app can then send updates to your friend about your whereabouts and estimated arrival time.
The app also announced another new feature that allows riders to unlock unique Snapchat filters for snaps taken while on the ride. There is both a “mystery” filter and a standard one that has the Uber logo and stamps the snap with how much time is left on the ride.
