Queen Elizabeth made a stop at a children’s hospital that is currently treating some of the injured parties following the terrorist attack in Manchester on Monday.
The Queen spoke to a variety of patients, including 14-year-old Evie Mills who got the Ariana Grande concert tickets for her birthday.
“It’s dreadful. Very wicked. To target that sort of thing.”
She went on to ensure Evie and her parents that “everyone is united” following the attack. The Queen also spent some time discussing Ariana herself, saying that she is a “very good singer. She sounds very, very good.”
On her visit, the Queen also met with some of the doctors and nurses who had been treating the patients, as well as the chief nurse and the chief executive of the National Health Service.
A statement was released via the Queen and the Buckingham Palace expressing sympathy about the incident, as well as praising the way that people has responded in the aftermath.
“I want to thank all the members of the emergency services, who have responded with such professionalism and care. And I would like to express my admiration for the way the people of Manchester have responded, with humanity and compassion, to this act of barbarity.”
