Snoop Dogg has intentions of creating a family friendly music festival in his dad’s hometown of Magnolia, Mississippi. The rapper (real name Calvin Broadus) wants to call the event “Snoop Fest” and feature gospel, blues, hip-hop, and R&B music.
The festival would be targeted to all age groups but then have certain focuses on certain days. It would start with music for “aunts, grandmas, and uncles. I think the first should have what the heritage of Mississippi is about and then the second day should be about the generation that took it to another level.”
Snoop has already met with Mayor Anthony Witherspoon who wants to make the event happen this coming year. The town of Magnolia is about an hour and a half from places like Jackson, Hattiesburg, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans, which means that it could be a popular spot for the festival to take place.
