The Denver International Airport has expressed their desire to bring in some bison to roam around on the property. They’re currently in the talks stage with the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge to bring in 150 bison to roam on an area of 200 acres.

The only holdup in the deal seems to be figuring out how to keep both the animals and people safe with the bison roaming around. They’re considered putting in both fences and moats to keep the animals contained and then to offer viewing stations from inside of the airport.

The Denver airport has one of the largest amounts of property out of any U.S. airport, spanning an area of 52.4 square miles. Most of that land is currently being unused and bringing in animals is one of their ideas about how to best utilize it.
