On Tuesday afternoon a man used a hammer to attack a police officer at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Another police officer shot the man who was then taken away. Tourists have been warned to avoid the area as it’s still in a state of emergency.

The French officials are currently treating the attack as a tourist attack. People who were nearby at the time have shared the incident was handled quickly and efficiently considering the circumstances.

The last Paris attack was at the Champs Elysées, when a police officer was shot and killed while two others were injured.
