The terror threat level in the United Kingdom has been raised to “critical” following the bombing at the Ariana Grande concert this week. Prime Minister Theresa May has raised the alert to the highest level in ten years.
Monday night’s Manchester arena terrorist attack took the lives of 22 people and injured 59 others. Officials are unsure whether bomber Salman Abedi acted alone or whether they should expecting follow up attacks from people that he was working with.
Theresa explained that “it is a possibility we cannot ignore that there is a wider group of individuals linked to this attack,” but also added that she didn’t want people to feel “unduly alarmed.”
The Euromonitor has lowered its estimate of visitors to the UK by 100,000 people since the incident took place.
